One of the biggest compliments I've ever received in life was that I was disciplined. I believe it stems from the lens in which I view the idea of what it means to be "strong". To me, strength is like a triangle - made up of three aspects - physical, mental, & spiritual. You can't complete the triangle figure without all three aspects; similarly you can't reach your full potential in life until you master each area of strength.
Through almost 20+ years of practicing these three strengths simultaneously, I can confidently say my strongest years are still yet to come. This is because I refuse to quit learning, am not content with settling for mediocracy, have no room for excuses, and am willing to do the work when no one is watching - all of which work together to grow each side of that "strength triangle."
I'm a firm believer in "leading by example" and find true joy in helping others realize what it's taken me years to learn. If you're still on the edge about growing stronger in all areas of your life, I'll leave you with this:
“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.”
- Hebrews 12:11 (NIV)
